The Senior Marketing Analyst is an integral member of our Audiences & Personalization team, who ensures customers receive the right message at the right time, using the latest capabilities to personalize and enhance customer experiences.

You will become an expert on customer behaviour and identify trends, build predictive models, and identify high-value segments that support targeting strategies across customer touchpoints and marketing channels. Ultimately, you’ll unlock the value of big data and help Best Buy’s marketing team scale its personalization capabilities.

As a Senior Marketing Analyst you will…

  • Identify customer segments and targeting opportunities to support marketing strategies across paid and owned channels

  • Query, extract, and transform real-time data sets spanning millions of customers

  • Provide expertise on customer data, data flows, and consent-based marketing

  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and build interactive and real-time dashboards

  • Lead efforts to resolve data quality issues by identifying the root-cause and presenting solutions

  • Deliver valuable, relevant, compelling, and visually intuitive insights to internal and external partners

What you’ll need to succeed…

  • Logic and critical thinking. You love data, testing & learning, and have a high degree of analytical curiosity.

  • An eye for detail. You understand the business behind the data and can identify anomalies when auditing analytics work.

  • Grit. You’ll need self-motivation and perseverance as we migrate our data infrastructure to the cloud, create new ETLs to support data projects, and establish working processes that are both secure and agile.

  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, database querying, and intermediate to advanced expertise with SQL, Python, and R

  • Experience working with customer data using database applications and tools, statistics, modeling, and data mining

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to continuously improve

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multiple teams (Marketing, Data Engineering, Retail Operations, Technology)

  • Experience with Marketing platforms, preferably Google Marketing Platform, Facebook Marketing Suite, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud

  • Knowledge of API integrations with marketing platforms and understanding of cookie/pixel implementation

Bonus points…

  • Experience working in cloud data warehouses (e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS Snowflake, Google BigQuery)

  • Experience in advanced analytics (e.g. machine learning, optimization, etc.)

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau

  • Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics experience

  • 1+ year(s) experience working in an Agile environment; familiarity with JIRA, Confluence

  • Business, Marketing, and/or Retail experience
